During a meeting in Mozambique, we collected testimonies from stakeholders about the value of the COHESION project.

Dr. Raquel Mahoque, National Programme Officer for Noncommunicable Diseases and Neglected Tropical Diseases at the World Health Organization, Mozambique Office, spoke about the relevance of the evidence collected by the COHESION Project to support the national government in the implementation of strategies for noncommunicable and neglected tropical diseases, in line with the the sustainable development goals (SDGs) targets. She has been involved with the project from its early stages and expects to have evidence of interventions at the community level, in her own words:

«I really expect as result [of this project] that we can have an evidence of what works in such type of community in Mozambique. We can bring this evidence, we can influence the policy.»

“When we are doing something based on evidence is more effective and you get more results for the community wellbeing. We know that this is one of the priorities for the Government and also one of the priorities for the SDGs ”
