On the 26th and 27th of April the Peruvian COHESION team in coordination with the Regional Health Department of the Ministry of Health “Luciano Castillo Colona- Sullana” held a two-day training session in the district of Ayabaca-Piura on “Diabetes, Hypertension, Neurocysticercosis and Responsiveness”.

This training responded to one of the outcomes from the formative studies of the COHESION project, where it was identified that primary health care workers lacked the adequate training in diabetes, hypertension, neurocysticercosis and responsiveness.

Dr. Luz Maria Moyano from the “Center for Global Health – Tumbes” provided the training in diabetes, hypertension and neurocysticercosis and Maria Amalia Pesantes, COHESION researcher, provided the training on the Responsiveness framework. A total of 34 health workers (13 men and 21 women) from the districts of Ayabaca and Montero participated of this training.
