The first meeting of the National Advisory Board in Peru was held on April 18, 2024, where specialists in public health and social studies provided their expert opinions and feedback on the COHESION-I research project.
The meeting aimed to present the activities conducted and results obtained so far, as well as the next research stages. In the beginning, an overall presentation of the COHESION-I Project was made by the Principal Investigator (PI), Dr. Maria Lazo Porras. Subsequently, research team leaders presented the co-design process and the components of the implementation and evaluation protocol. The aim, research questions, participants, and methods of the quantitative, qualitative, economic, and process evaluations were presented. The research team also shared specific questions they had for the advisors to help improve each of the studies. The presentation of progress was followed by a round of queries and comments.
Discussions in the meeting revolved around ways to improve the implementation and evaluation protocol. Specific suggestions for each evaluation were made by the advisors, this included possible questions and measures to contemplate. Advisors also highlighted the importance of foreseeing possible issues that might arise during the implementation of the evaluations, as well as of considering the gendered and cultural characteristics of the contexts to intervene.
The next meeting of the National Advisory Board is planned for August 7, 2024.
