Our team members from Nepal, healthcare providers and research experts convened to validate NCD management tools and capacity-building materials designed for primary-level services across four intervention sites.

On December 5, the Nepal team participated in an expert consultation workshop organized by B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (KHDC Program) to review and validate NCD management and capacity-building materials for primary-level services. Participants included Advisory Board members, COHESION-I research team members, and healthcare providers from the four intervention sites.

Healthcare providers contributed actively throughout the session, drawing on their clinical experience to provide practical feedback on the refinement of tools developed by BPKIHS (KHDC Program) that will be implemented by the COHESION-I project. The participation of our team members from Nepal further strengthened the validation process, ensuring that the tools, including leaflets and booklets, are both clinically sound and context-relevant for local primary care settings.

The workshop also served as a capacity-strengthening platform for local healthcare providers, who engaged in discussions on clinical guidance tools with national-level experts. It also featured a communication session to introduce the concept of participatory research and share updates on COHESION-I activities. Additional discussions with National Advisory Board members supported the exchange of ideas on communication outputs.
