Our team members and national advisors reviewed co-design outputs and discussed strategic approaches for intervention validation and community engagement.

On August 17, 2025, the second National Advisory Board meeting was held at Hotel Vivanta in Kathmandu to assess project progress to date. The meeting brought together team members from Nepal and national advisors to evaluate co-design outputs and explore validation processes.

The discussion centered on strengthening the co-design process through policy analysis, with advisors emphasizing that although it was integrated during the co-creation phase, an earlier and more thorough exploration of existing policy gaps could have enhanced both the co-design process and intervention development in the current context.

Our advisors highlighted the critical importance of robust validation processes, recommending that co-design outputs receive approval from regulatory government bodies to ensure systematic adoption and scalability. This validation framework would also apply to capacity-building materials at the provincial or federal level.

A key area of discussion involved redefining the role of Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHVs) within the co-design output. Advisors suggested repositioning FCHVs as messengers or audiences of focus rather than ‘media’, while acknowledging their potential for conducting blood pressure and glucose measurements. They also emphasized the need to establish community-based checkpoints to monitor their activities and progress.

The meeting concluded with our advisors confirming their availability for a potential dissemination event planned for December 2025. We sincerely thank the advisory board for their valuable guidance and continued support.
