Our team members from Nepal and key national stakeholders gathered to examine the project’s communication tools and the co-design approach that guided their development, reflecting on its potential for nationwide scalability.

On March 25, 2026 the COHESION-I research team conducted a formal meeting at the National Health Education, Information, and Communication Centre (NHEICC). The session focused on showcasing the project’s communication tools and the participatory co-design approach used in their development.
The event brought together key national stakeholders, including Dr. Radhika Thapaliya, Director of NHEICC, along with a Senior Consultant from the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD), a Senior Health Education Administrator of the National Health Training Centre (NHTC), and various Public Health Administrators and Officers.
The central theme of the meeting was the project’s focus on co-designing health interventions in collaboration with diverse audiences, including local communities. This approach encompassed the development of context-specific communication materials that are responsive to local needs, addressing the prevention and management of diabetes, hypertension, and leprosy. Attendees engaged directly with these materials, reviewing printed resources and listening to audio scripts, which demonstrated the intervention’s use of consistent, reinforcing messages within the community.
The session concluded with strong remarks from participants, emphasizing that the participatory nature of the project had made the materials uniquely specific and relevant to community needs. Building on this, they affirmed that the materials and findings represent key assets and expressed support for nationwide adaptation.
