The awareness and education materials developed for the intervention in Nepal team have been officially validated by Nepal’s Ministry of Health and Population, marking an important step towards their nationwide use beyond the project.

In September 2026, the Information, Education and Communication / Behaviour Change Communication (IEC/BCC) materials developed for the COHESION-I project intervention in Nepal received official approval from the Government of Nepal.
The awareness and education materials address key health topics in the communities where the intervention was implemented, including healthy eating, the prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases, diabetes care, leprosy, and access to health insurance.
This milestone reflects our close collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Population throughout the development and validation process. It builds on the community-centred validation workshops held in November 2025, where healthcare providers, Female Community Health Volunteers, people living with NCDs and NTDs, caregivers, and community leaders helped refine the materials to ensure that the health messages reflected local needs and contexts. A detailed summary of the community-centred validation workshops is available here.
Official approval marks an important step towards the wider use and dissemination of the health communication materials across Nepal beyond the project’s duration, creating opportunities for future scale-up.
