During the annual project meeting, partners from participating countries reviewed progress, shared lessons, and took part in key activities, including a public panel on strengthening health systems for NCDs and NTDs across the Global South and an exchange with WHO representatives.

The annual COHESION-I Project multi-country meeting took place in Geneva in June 2026, bringing project partners together to foster collaboration and strategic planning.
Throughout the four-day event, team members reviewed progress on intervention implementations and evaluations by country, reflected on key project components and research outputs, and aligned on forthcoming activities. Discussions covered fieldwork progress, findings from the co-design workshops, and outcomes on qualitative, quantitative, process, and economic evaluations, as well as key challenges, risks, potential solutions, and lessons learned. Updates on capacity strengthening and communication activities were also shared.
A public panel was organized in collaboration with the NCD Policy Lab at the University of Geneva, focusing on strengthening health systems for NCDs and NTDs across Southeast Asia, Mozambique, Nepal, and Peru. The in-person event engaged 60 participants, including early-career researchers, healthcare professionals, policymakers.
The meeting also featured the launch of “COHESION-I Voices”, a series of community-level video testimonies, and a video on the co-design process across the four countries, available on our YouTube channel. Participants and stakeholders were encouraged to engage with these materials to gain deeper insight into the experiences and community perspectives shaping the project.
Additionally, the NCD Policy Lab organized a meeting between the COHESION-I Project and WHO representatives to exchange experiences on strengthening primary healthcare in low- and middle-income countries. We are grateful to WHO for receiving us and for such a valuable exchange. Read more about this activity here.
Beyond reviewing progress, the meeting engaged partner countries, fostered collaboration, and shaped the next phase of the project.
